This is not a vehicle model but an add-on set of photo-etched brass parts from the Polish company Aber. The vol. 3 set is focused on the ammunition holders and boxes for models of the German 12.8 cm Selbstfahrlafette L/61 Sturer Emil heavy tank destroyer. The metal parts render the stowage of the rounds in the fighting compartment faithfully.
The Sturer Emil was an experimental German heavy tank destroyer of the Second World War with a powerful 128 mm L/61 gun. Only two prototypes were built, and they were fielded on the Eastern Front. Because the rounds were large, heavy and loaded in two parts, the fighting compartment had elaborate stowage holders and boxes.
The parts are cut from the fret, cleaned up and bent along the scored lines; a photo-etch bending tool helps. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue. Degrease the metal before painting and prime it with a primer for metal. The set shows to best effect on an open fighting compartment.
This is an accessory, not a standalone model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
