1:35 Wehrmacht jerrycans, Nowack Bautzen, 1943 pattern, closed is a set of ten small accessories for dioramas and for detailing military vehicles. It is not a vehicle kit but a separate fitting.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set holds ten miniatures of the German standard twenty-liter jerrycan in 1:35 scale, in the version with the closure shut, with the mark of the Nowack works of Bautzen and after the pattern of 1943. It is not a model of a vehicle and not a kit: it is an accessory for vehicles already built and for diorama scenes.
The can was carried in holders on the fenders, at the rear of the bed, on trailers and inside vehicles, and it belonged to the equipment without which a mobile unit could not manage. Throughout its production the design stayed simple and recognizable: three handles side by side, a folding lever closure needing no tools, and pressed crosses on the sides, which stiffen the shell and leave room for the contents to expand. The maker's mark pressed into the shell, together with the year of the pattern, serves today to tell the individual versions apart.
Separate the castings carefully with a sharp scalpel or cutting pliers and sand the traces of the cut with fine paper. Wash resin and 3D printed parts before painting in lukewarm water with dish soap and glue them with super glue; injection-molded plastic takes ordinary thin modeling cement. The closed variant belongs on holders, fenders and in stacks of load. Paint them together with the vehicle, go over them with a dark wash, bring the pressed crosses out with a dry brush and add small scuffs on the edges where the container chafed against the holder.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
