German water cans with the ABP marking, 1941 pattern, closed, 1:35 is an accessory set of ten water cans for models of Second World War vehicles.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is a set of accessories, not a vehicle kit. According to the name the package holds ten water cans of the 1941 pattern in the closed version. Closed pieces suit anywhere the can is meant to be a stowed reserve: in a holder on a fender, lashed down on the bed or stacked among the rest of the load.
The water can had the same basic shape as the fuel one: three handles side by side, a pressed cross on the sides and a quick-release closure with a lever. The essential difference was in the marking, because to prevent the contents being confused, water cans were set apart by lettering and as a rule by a white cross on the side as well, and their inside tended to be treated so that the water did not pick up a taste. On the body the cans carried a pressed maker's mark and the year of the pattern; it is precisely these details that set the individual sets of this line apart from one another.
Wash the parts in lukewarm water with dish soap, remove the remains of the casting gates and level the edges with fine sandpaper. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Apply the primer thinly so that the relief of the pressing stays readable. On a model it pays to set the water cans apart precisely by their marking, because a white cross or lettering, masked or painted by hand, says at once what the contents were. The rest of the method is the same as with other accessories: a dark glaze into the hollows, stippled scuffs on the edges and a final dusting with pigment.
The set is an accessory, not a vehicle kit. It is supplied unpainted; glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
