This product is a turned metal barrel for the heavy German 12.8 cm K44 L/55 anti-tank gun of Rheinmetall design, in 1:35 scale. It is not a kit but a metal detail accessory. Turned metal captures the massive long barrel of a large caliber faithfully and does away with the parting seam, which on barrels this long easily spoils the impression.
The 12.8 cm gun was among the heaviest German anti-tank and artillery weapons at the end of the Second World War. The K44 form with its L/55 barrel stood out for its great range and penetrating power. Weapons of this caliber also appeared in projects for heavy self-propelled vehicles.
The barrel is glued with cyanoacrylate glue. On a large, long barrel, metal guarantees a straight axis with no sag. We recommend seating the metal part in the carriage or mantlet so that it is flush, and degreasing it before painting.
This is a metal detail accessory, not a standalone model. The base kit is not included in the package.
