This is a separate figure in 1:35 scale from the range of modern irregular fighters from the manufacturer MAiM. According to the name the figure is caught in a resting position, that is, during a break between moves rather than in action. The number one sets this pose apart from the other variants of the same motif.
Figures of modern irregular fighters are used in modeling for dioramas from present-day conflicts, where they complete armored and transport equipment and civilian built-up areas. The typical look is mixed: civilian clothing combined with items of military gear, with no uniform dress and no established insignia. That is exactly what makes the figure interesting in modeling terms — the painting is not tied to prescribed shades of a uniform and you have freedom in the choice of fabrics and patterns.
Wash the figure in lukewarm soapy water before painting and let it dry; on small castings that decides how well the paint adheres. Trim the seams and casting residue carefully with a scalpel and sand them with fine abrasive paper. Glue with super glue, and with plastic parts ordinary modeling cement. Apply a thin base coat and only then paint — a heavy layer fills the fine relief of the cloth. Build the face and the hands on a flesh base, put a thin wash into the shadows and apply the highlights by lightening step by step, never with white. With the textiles it pays to set each item of clothing apart in a different shade and texture, so that the figure does not look monolithic. At the end, add dust on the footwear and the bottoms of the trousers.
The figure is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
