This injection-molded plastic kit from the Japanese manufacturer FineMolds represents the Japanese Type 73 light cross-country vehicle carrying a 106 mm Type 60 recoilless rifle in 1:35 scale. The model offers a broken-down body, the chassis, the interior and the weapon itself, and it is meant to be assembled and painted by the builder.
The Type 73 is a light cross-country vehicle of the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force (JGSDF), derived from a license-built Mitsubishi jeep. In its anti-tank version it carries a 106 mm Type 60 recoilless rifle on the bed, which gives a light unit the ability to destroy armored targets. The vehicle has been in service since the 1970s.
Paint the interior and the chassis before closing the body, and assemble the barrel and the mount of the recoilless rifle carefully so that they stay in line. A uniform olive or a multi-color finish is typical and it comes into its own with an airbrush; the weathering is built up with washes and pigments.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
