The model is made up of several sprues of plastic parts and holds clear parts, fine photo-etched items and tires with a faithful tread pattern. The kit is meant to be assembled and painted by the modeler.
The Type 96 WAPC is a Japanese eight-wheeled (8x8) armored personnel carrier that began to be introduced with the JGSDF in the second half of the 1990s as a type standardized in 1996. It serves to carry a squad of infantry under armor protection. It was built in two forms differing mainly in the armament on the roof: a 40 mm grenade launcher or a heavy machine gun of 12.7 mm caliber. The design puts the emphasis on mobility on the road and across country and on protection of the crew.
We recommend assembling and fine-tuning the running gear and the chassis before you close the hull. Use thin modeling cement on the plastic, spray the parts with a base coat and lay the final shade on with an airbrush. The look will be brought out by darker washes into the recesses and fine dust and mud pigments on the running gear.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
