Fifty resin parts: writing desks, chairs and small accessories for an office or a command post on a diorama.
Responsibility details are not available.
An office appears on a diorama more often than you would expect: as a command post in a requisitioned house, as the administration of a depot, or as a room somebody is clearing out in a hurry. Fifty resin parts allow both, that is, a room that is impeccably tidy and one that has been turned over with papers across the floor.
With casting resin an air cavity shows up now and then, most often on an edge or in the place where the material flowed into the mold. Do not cover it with paint, it will stand out even more once varnished. Fill a small crater with a drop of cyanoacrylate glue dusted with baking soda; the mixture hardens at once into a sandable material. Fill a larger cavity with two-part putty applied with a spatula and draw it off level. Once it has hardened, sand it down with fine paper over a piece of hard foam, so that the edge does not round off, and restore an engraved line that the sanding cut through with the point of a needle run along a ruler.
Office furniture usually has three different surfaces: the varnished wood of the top, the flat leather or linoleum on the covering and the worn metal of the legs. The difference between them is made more by sheen than by shade, so paint with one palette and bring it into play with varnish.
The simplest and most effective accessory is paper. A thin white sheet cut into strips as wide as a fingernail, slightly rippled and scattered over the top, turns a model of furniture into a room in which work was being done.
