A figure of a sailor of the Kriegsmarine in a ceremonial stance in 1:35 scale, with the theme of the fast torpedo boats.
Responsibility details are not available.
This figure in 1:35 scale captures a sailor of the Kriegsmarine in a ceremonial stance, the kind that belonged to the parades and musters of crews. The theme is the crew of the fast boats, that is the small fast torpedo vessels that operated in the English Channel and in the North Sea. A stance without movement suits scenes at a quay or on the deck of a moored boat, where a figure simply stands and does not look posed.
The 1:35 scale is common with models of fast boats and coastal scenes, so the figure will serve as an accessory to a display model and as part of a diorama alike. A human figure gives a scene scale: only beside it is it apparent how big a vessel or a vehicle really was. It also looks good in a pair with another figure of the same range, because a ceremonial muster is hardly held alone.
Wash and degrease the figure before painting so that the paint holds, and apply a thin layer of base coat. Work in thin layers and let them dry, as a heavy layer floods over the fine shapes of the uniform. Build the face and hands up from a base skin tone through the shadows to the lightened places. Any separate parts, such as arms or the head, should be glued on with super glue and the joint filled with putty, so that no visible gap is left in it. Paint the small accessories before gluing.
Paints, glue, a base and a model of the vessel are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
