A set of injection-molded plastic figures in 1:35 scale, tied thematically to the fighting at Kursk in 1943. The figures are supplied unassembled and unpainted, so they are intended to be built and painted rather than as finished collector pieces. In 1:35 scale figures are used above all to complete dioramas and to give models of equipment scale and action.
The fighting at Kursk in the summer of 1943 is among the most frequently modeled themes of Second World War history on the Eastern Front. For a modeler it is a setting in which a great many types of equipment meet, and figures therefore serve as an accessory that gives finished models a human scale.
The figures call for careful removal of the mold seams, which usually run along the outer sides of the arms and legs. Cut the seams away with a scalpel and sand them with fine abrasive paper, otherwise they will stand out once painted. It is worth spraying assembled figures with a primer and only then painting. Skin is best built up from a mid flesh tone through a darker glaze in the recesses to fine light highlights. On uniforms and equipment a combination of acrylics and oil paints works for soft transitions, and at the end a matte coat and a light dusting of pigment on the boots and lower areas suit well.
The figures are supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and a base are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
