A plastic kit of the Soviet heavy tank KV-5 in 1:35 scale from Takom. An injection-molded model of the oversized supertank of the Second World War, including a metal barrel and photo-etched parts.
Responsibility details are not available.
This injection-molded plastic kit captures the Soviet heavy tank KV-5 (the Object 225 project) in 1:35 scale. The package holds parts in hard plastic, individual track links, photo-etched grilles, a turned metal barrel and water-slide decals for several marking variants. The turrets rotate and the barrels can be set in elevation.
The KV-5 was a Soviet project for an oversized heavy tank from the start of the 1940s. The design allowed for a weight of around a hundred tons, heavy armor and a large-caliber gun in the main turret, complemented by a smaller turret with a machine gun. A prototype was never built, as development was halted because of the defense of Leningrad. The model therefore represents a so-called paper panzer, that is a vehicle that stayed on paper.
We recommend assembling the running gear and the interior of the hull before closing the upper part. Assemble the tracks made of individual links patiently, section by section. Glue the plastic with thin modeling cement, apply a base coat (primer) before painting and spray with an airbrush. You will create the weathering with washes and pigments for mud and dust effects.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
