Greenery can solve several things at once on a diorama: it establishes the climate, covers an ugly transition between the plinth and the terrain and offers the eye a place to rest among the hard shapes of vehicles. Tropical leaves have the ideal size for that, because they are big enough to be recognized and yet can be worked with one piece at a time.
The set offers leaves of a tropical plant worked out for 1:35 scale. You put the plant together from the individual leaves yourself, which is an advantage over a finished bush: you can thicken the growth where it is needed and leave it sparse elsewhere.
First plan where the growth will go and lay the leaves out dry. Only then shape them one by one, so that an element of chance stays apparent in the whole. A curve over a blunt point is enough; a flat leaf always looks like a cutout. Mix the shades, as green in nature is never uniform. Dose the glue in minute drops on the stalk of the leaf, as an excess at the edges will create a visible glossy mark. Lay a few leaves on the ground at the foot of the plant; in the tropics the litter is as conspicuous as the living greenery and the scene gains credibility at once.
The accessory suits scenes from the tropics and subtropics, jungle settings and the filling of the foreground of a smaller vignette. The package holds only the leaves; a base, a model, figures, paints and glue are not part of it, unless stated otherwise.
