Artwox Model 1:700, a wooden deck for the Japanese battleship Ise is an accessory to a plastic kit. A self-adhesive veneer with the laying of the planks printed on it will replace the smooth plastic deck. Intended for the Hasegawa 49117 kit.

This is not a kit of the ship but an aftermarket accessory. In the package there is a veneer deck in 1:700 scale with a self-adhesive base and with the pattern of the individual deck planks printed on it. Once it is glued onto the plastic deck, the model is rid of the most distracting detail of a plastic kit: a uniform area with suggested grooves, which never looks like wood. The set is intended for the Hasegawa 49117 kit.
The Ise was a Japanese battleship of the class of the same name, taken into service at the end of the First World War. The main armament consisted of 356 mm guns in pairs of turrets. In the interwar period the ship went through extensive rebuilds that changed the superstructure, the propulsion system and the layout of the deck.
Never take the backing film off the self-adhesive layer all at once. On long deck parts peel it away only for the first two or three centimeters, seat the part precisely by the bow and the longitudinal axis, and only then pull the film out from under the veneer gradually, pressing the deck down behind it as you go. Working in sections is the only reliable way to avoid bubbles and to keep a long strip from sticking down crooked halfway along its length. Work on a clean pad, because dust caught under the veneer will make a visible bump.
This is an accessory to a plastic kit, not a model of the ship. The kit itself, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
