Liesel G.I.H (Germany Infantry Hunter) in 1:35 scale is a kit of a combat walking machine from the Front46 range by the manufacturer MAiM. It is supplied as an unpainted casting to be cleaned up, assembled and painted, a project where a modeler of military vehicles meets a science fiction fan.
Front46 is the manufacturer MAiM's own retro science fiction world: an alternative vision of a war that goes on, in which the battlefield has been taken over by walking machines, heavy armor and experimental equipment. In this world Liesel is a German machine intended for hunting infantry, combining the shapes of real equipment of the 1940s with the fantasy of a walking chassis. It is precisely this believable grounding in the aesthetic of the period that makes the machines of Front46 a rewarding subject: on a shelf and in a diorama they look like equipment that could have existed.
Wash the parts clean of mold release agent before building, remove the casting blocks and bond them with super glue. A dry test assembly pays off, as does thinking the position of the legs through, because the stance of the machine determines the dynamics of the whole scene. A color scheme in the spirit of German equipment suggests itself: dark yellow with camouflage, winter whitewash or gray. Chipping on the edges, rust around the joints and mud on the legs will settle the machine into reality. In 1:35 scale you can fill it out with ordinary figures and props.
The kit is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package.
