ELEFANT 1:35 Lifting eyes for US postwar armor, workable version is a resin set with 56 eyes in 1:35 scale. A detail accessory for a kit, not a vehicle model.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set contains 56 resin lifting eyes for models of American postwar armor in 1:35 scale, in the version the manufacturer describes as workable. It is not a vehicle kit but an accessory for the modeler who wants faithful fittings on the hull and the turret instead of simplified moldings.
Lifting eyes serve on real equipment for hoisting heavy assemblies and for securing cables, so they are spaced regularly and on a model every deviation shows. When a row of eyes is even slightly wavy, or one is out of line, the viewer's eye catches it before any other detail. It therefore pays to work with a guide line: stick a strip of masking tape to the surface, mark the centers along its edge and only then drill. A check from a distance and from the side against the light is just as useful, because that is where uneven height shows most clearly.
Cut the original plastic fittings off, level the area and pre-drill the holes with a micro drill. Wash the castings in lukewarm water with detergent before gluing and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue in a minimal amount, so that it does not creep into the place where clearance should remain. Paint thinly with an airbrush; at the end comes a dark wash, which gives the eye its shadow, and light chipping of the edges with a dry brush, because on real vehicles the fittings are among the places where the finish wears off fastest.
The accessory is supplied unpainted and without the base kit. Glue, paints and tools are not included in the package.
