A photo-etched set from the Czech maker Eduard in 1:35 scale that faithfully reproduces slat armor on a model of the M-1130 command vehicle. It is not a model of the vehicle but an accessory fitted to a plastic kit. The photo-etched mesh renders the thin structure of the slats far more convincingly than thick-walled plastic.
Slat armor is a cage structure around armored vehicles meant to set off the shaped charges of anti-tank weapons early, before they reach the main armor. On the wheeled carriers of the Stryker family it is one of the typical features of combat service.
The etched frames and meshes are shaped carefully and glued with cyanoacrylate glue. We recommend working in sections and keeping everything square. Degrease the brass before painting and spray a primer for metal.
This is an add-on photo-etched set. The plastic kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
