A set of photo-etched metal parts from Eduard focused on the fittings and mountings of the add-on armor protection of the American M-1A Abrams tank in 1:35 scale. It is not a model of the tank but a specialized detail accessory that replaces coarser plastic features with thin and truer photo-etched parts. The scope of the set is described in the enclosed instructions.
The M-1A belongs to the family of American Abrams main battle tanks. The vehicles carry a 120 mm smoothbore gun, are powered by a gas turbine and protected by heavy composite armor. On machines deployed in combat, add-on armor elements were fitted to the sides and the front, and it is their fittings and mountings that this set refines.
Separate the photo-etched parts from the fret, bend them on a bending tool and glue them with super glue. Place the fittings and mountings on the armor plates according to the instructions and adapt them to the shape of the hull and the turret. Apply a primer before painting; desert camouflage comes to life with a wash and dust pigments on the running gear.
The accessory does not hold the model itself, glue or paints. It is meant to complete an existing kit.
