This injection-molded plastic kit captures the M901 launching station and the AN/MPQ-53 radar of the American MIM-104 Patriot surface-to-air missile system in the PAC-2 version. The model in 1:35 scale from Trumpeter is a large build of two big trailers with a high part count, clear parts, photo-etched sheet and decals.
Patriot is an American surface-to-air missile system designed to destroy aircraft and missiles. The M901 launching station carries the canisters with the guided missiles and is paired with the AN/MPQ-53 phased array radar, which searches for and tracks the targets. The PAC-2 version brought improvements against fast air targets.
Build both trailers in sub-assemblies and plan the sequence in advance. Glue the plastic with thin modeling cement, the photo-etched parts with super glue and the glazing with glue for clear parts. Apply a primer, spray the shades with an airbrush and finish the surface with fine washes and pigments.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
