A relief 3D-printed and pre-colored interior decal, not an aircraft kit. The set brings raised instrument panels, side consoles, levers and other details into the cockpit of the Grumman F-14B Tomcat carrier fighter — everything is already in color, so laborious painting is done away with. According to the name it also contains 3D-printed resin parts, and it serves as a conversion of the cockpit of the Tamiya F-14D kit in 1:48 scale to the F-14B version.

The real subject

The Grumman F-14 Tomcat was an American two-seat carrier fighter with a variable-geometry wing, famous for its service with the US Navy. The B version received more powerful General Electric F110 engines, which removed the trouble of the original powerplant.

How the 3D decal is used

• Paint the surface in the cockpit with a dark base and bring it up with a gloss varnish (Future, Klear, Tamiya X-22); Quinta elements have no adhesive layer of their own and hold precisely on the gloss, so a matte base is a mistake.
• Cut the part out, soak it in lukewarm water for about fifteen seconds and slide it off the backing decal paper into place; on intricate surfaces a drop of super glue helps.
• Do not use a decal softener or a decal fixer, because their chemistry would attack the printed resin and destroy the element. The resin parts, on the other hand, are bonded with super glue; the ban applies only to the printed decals.
