1:35 MAGACH 3 BATTERING RAM – MINI KIT

The real subject

Magach is the Israeli designation for the American-built Patton series tanks, which went through a number of local modifications in Israeli service. The Magach 3 is one of these upgraded versions. A battering ram is a heavy device carried by the vehicle and used to break through walls, gates and other solid obstacles. On a model it is a conspicuous feature that turns a standard tank into a machine with an obvious purpose at once, which is why it also suits a scene in which the vehicle is meant to tell a story.

What the set contains

A small add-on set in 1:35 scale, listed as a mini kit. It covers the battering ram and the parts that go with it. The exact number of parts, the way it attaches to the model and the kit it is cut for are stated in the manufacturer's instructions.

Building and painting tips

• The parts are not polystyrene, so ordinary plastic cement will not bond them; use super glue in a small drop.
• Cut the surplus material away with a sharp blade a little way from the part and sand the remainder off carefully.
• Wash and degrease the parts before painting, otherwise the paint will not hold on the surface.
• Try the attachment to the model dry before gluing and sand the mating surfaces flat.
• On the real vehicle the ram is a hard-worked item, so it will take pronounced wear and bare metal on the edges.

Terms of supply

The set is supplied as listed by the manufacturer. Paints, glue and tools are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
