Workable metal tracks Friulmodel 1:35 Mark V. - cast white metal for the British First World War tank Mark V, with a track width matching the 67.31 cm of the real vehicle.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of workable tracks from Friulmodel in 1:35 scale for the British heavy tank Mark V of the First World War. The tracks are cast in white metal and consist of individual links joined by a thin wire running through the pin holes. The resulting run stays workable, follows the shape of the hull convincingly and, by its weight, gives the model a realism that plastic kit tracks cannot offer. The width of the track matches that of the real vehicle (26.5 inches, that is 67.31 cm on the original). It is not a vehicle kit but a detailed replacement of the tracks.
The Mark V was a British heavy tank of the end of the First World War, a successor to the line of rhomboid tanks that first broke the deadlock of trench warfare. The tracks running around the whole characteristic rhomboid outline of the hull are its most typical recognition feature, so a faithful rendering of them markedly affects the look of the model.
Clean any flash off the links, assemble them on the wires and trim the excess wire with cutters. The joints can be secured with a drop of super glue. Degrease the metal before painting and apply a base color suitable for metal; metal tracks hold weathering, washes and pigments for the mud and dust effects typical of First World War vehicles excellently.
The set serves as an accessory for a plastic model of the matching vehicle; the model itself, glue and paints are not included in the package.
