A combined package of metal fencing in 1:35 scale. It holds two basic sets of type A fence and one gate of the same type.

Fencing does two things at once on a diorama. It closes off a scene, so the viewer knows where to look, and at the same time it supplies a story: behind the fence there is a compound, a store, a barracks or a yard that is not simply walked into. A gate in it then creates a natural focus around which a guard, a barrier or a parked vehicle can be set. The combined package brings both together, twice the length of fence as well as an entrance into it.
Work the thin metal parts on a hard flat surface and make the bends over a sharp edge, not with your fingers. Set the posts first, ideally into holes pre-drilled in the base, because a post pushed in holds more firmly than one merely glued and the fence then survives later handling of the scene. Only between the posts already set do you glue the panels of fence.
Before painting, degrease the metal and spray it with primer, otherwise the paint will flake when a part is bent. A straight, untouched fence looks untruthful, though: two panels leaning slightly out of vertical, one bent post and rust running down from a footing turn the product into a piece of equipment that has already stood through something. A gate looks best half open, because an open entrance leads the eye into the scene.
