1:35 MG-15 (Pair)

The real subject

The MG 15 was a German machine gun of 7.92 mm caliber that during the Second World War served as a flexible defensive weapon in the cabins of bombers and reconnaissance aircraft. A gunner aimed it by hand and took the cartridges from a double drum magazine, which gave the weapon an unmistakable silhouette. Once newer types had pushed it out of the decks of aircraft, ground units received it and it also appeared on the mounts of vehicles.

What the set contains

The package brings two pieces of the weapon in 1:35 scale. The parts will replace the simplified configuration from a kit and bring a more legible shape of the barrel and of the perforated cooling jacket, that is, of the places a viewer looks at first.

Building and painting tips

Cut the surplus material off with a sharp blade a little way from the part and sand the remainder off carefully, so that the edges stay sharp. Wash and degrease the parts before painting, as otherwise the paint will not hold. Choose a cyanoacrylate glue and apply it in a minute amount, because a surplus creeps into the detail and floods it. Painting is easier before fitting, while the weapon can be held by the root of the barrel; the particular procedure for preparation is in the instructions of the manufacturer.

Who it is for

The set suits modelers who build German vehicles of the Second World War in 1:35 scale and want the armament at the level of the rest of the build. It comes into its own on the mounts of vehicles and in a scene with a crew. Working with small parts calls for tweezers and a calm hand, but the fitting itself is simple.

This is an accessory set of two weapons. A kit, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
