A set of photo-etched metal parts in 1:35 scale from which a genuinely movable hinge is assembled. It is neither a kit nor an accessory tied to a particular vehicle but a universal material for modelers who want a hatch, a door or an engine cover that really opens, rather than one glued in a single position. The assembled hinge holds its position and stands up to repeated opening.
The hinges suit vehicle hatches, cargo compartment doors, engine covers, the side walls of boxes, or the doors and shutters of buildings on a diorama. The advantage is clearest on models with a worked-up interior, where the viewer should be given the chance to look inside without the model being permanently open and therefore only half shown.
Cut the parts on a hard surface with sharp photo-etch scissors or a scalpel, and never break them out. Practice assembling the hinge as a dry run, and only then seat it on the model. Meter out the glue with the tip of a wire and make sure it does not run into the axis of the hinge, or the hinge will seize. Degrease the metal before painting and prime it, and while painting take care that the paint does not get into the joint.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
