This accessory brings a turned metal barrel for the XM-150 weapon of 152 mm caliber, including a smoke discharger, for a model of the experimental MBT-70 tank in 1:35 scale. It is not a stand-alone model of the vehicle but a detail part that replaces the plastic barrel from the kit with a precisely turned metal one with a perfectly round muzzle and a straight axis.
The MBT-70, designated KPz 70 in German service, was a joint American and German main battle tank project of the 1960s and 1970s. Its main weapon was the XM-150 system of 152 mm caliber, able to fire both conventional ammunition and guided missiles. The tank remained at the prototype stage and never reached series production.
Clean any machining residue off the metal barrel, clean up the seating face and glue it on with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Before painting we recommend giving the metal a base coat (a primer) for better adhesion and then painting it to match the rest of the model.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
