E.T. Model 1:35 Modern US ARMY M1A2 SEP MBT TUSK II is a photo-etched detail set for the plastic kit of the American M1A2 SEP main battle tank in the TUSK II configuration. It is not a model of the tank, but a metal accessory.

A detail set of photo-etched parts in 1:35 scale intended for refining the plastic kit of the American M1A2 SEP main battle tank fitted with the TUSK II package. The photo-etched metal replaces the grilles, the protective plates, the brackets, the clamps and the stowage loops, that is the parts where the thickness of plastic spoils the impression of a finished model most. The set is not a kit in its own right and the base model is obtained separately.
The M1A2 SEP is an upgraded version of the Abrams with improved electronics and improved observation and control systems. The TUSK package came out of experience from fighting in built-up areas, where a tank is at risk of hits from the sides, from the rear and from above. The TUSK II configuration adds explosive reactive armor tiles on the sides, strengthens protection against mines and improvised charges, and adds a shield for the loader, a remote controlled weapon station for the commander and a telephone at the rear for contact with the accompanying infantry. It is powered by a gas turbine and the main armament is a 120 mm smoothbore gun.
Sets for modern Abrams tanks hold a lot of repeating small parts, so lay them out in dishes by group and glue them in stages rather than all at once. Separate the parts with photo-etch scissors and make the folds in a bender. They are glued with the smallest possible amount of cyanoacrylate. Degrease the metal before painting and spray it with a primer. The sand shades of the desert scheme come out well if you add a dark wash in the recesses once they have dried and a fine dust pigment on the lower part of the hull.
The package holds photo-etched parts, not a kit of the tank. The base model, glue and paints are not part of the delivery.
