The accessory suits a command post, a tent, a vehicle interior, a table in a hangar or the ground beside figures.
Pelican transport cases are shell-type boxes of tough plastic with a perimeter seal, folding latches and handles, which protect their contents from impact, dust and damp. The versions for computing equipment have a divided interior with compartments and soft padding, so that even fragile equipment can be carried in them. In a military setting they make it possible to set up a makeshift workplace where there is no fixed infrastructure at all, which is entirely commonplace today at headquarters and in signals units.
