1:35 Modern US Army PELICAN M16-2 Rifle Case is a modeling accessory from Eureka XXL: a rugged transport case for rifles in 1:35 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
An accessory for models and dioramas, not a kit of a weapon or a vehicle. The theme is a rugged transport case intended for moving rifles of the M16 family, that is, a long flat container with massive latches that is told apart from an ordinary crate at first glance. The execution is in 1:35 scale and the accessory belongs among crates and transport containers.
A long flat case is useful in a scene precisely because of its shape: it leans well against the side of a vehicle and lies on a truck bed, on a table at an issue point or on a pallet without taking up height. Use it where you want to suggest weapons being issued or moved, or a store and a unit getting ready. The combination of a closed and an open piece side by side gives a scene its action. Because it is a mass-produced item, it takes repetition: several cases stacked up or stood on edge look natural, just offset and turn them slightly so that the stack does not read as a single cast block.
Clean and degrease the parts and lay down a primer suitable for the material in question, choosing the glue by the same test. Paint the shell flat and the fittings and latches in a darker metal tone. A wash will pick out the ribbing and the gap between the lid and the base, and gently lifting the edges with a dry brush will draw out the shape. Suggest scuffing mainly on the corners and around the handles. Dust pigment on the lower edge and where it touches the base will settle the accessory into the scene.
This is a modeling accessory, not a model in its own right. Paints, glue, figures and the base are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
