A diorama accessory from Eureka XXL in 1:35 scale. It is not a vehicle model or a vehicle kit but a scale reproduction of a Pelican transport case for the M24 sniper weapon system with all its accessories. According to the name the weapon itself is included, so the accessory offers both the transport case and its contents. It suits an armory, an issue table, a vehicle interior or the ground beside figures.
The M24 sniper weapon system is an American bolt-action rifle with a scope, a bipod and accessories, introduced in the late 1980s and used for decades. It is carried in a closed case with a shaped insert, so that the scope and the barrel stay protected and the settings are not disturbed. Pelican cases are shell-type boxes of tough plastic with a perimeter seal, folding latches and handles; the weapon versions usually carry a label on the lid marking the contents. An open case with the weapon stowed in it is a very rewarding motif in a scene, because it draws attention to a single point.
Separate the parts carefully, clean up the mating faces and wash and degrease the whole accessory before painting. A thin primer, the base shade from an airbrush and the details finished with a brush prove their worth. Paint the insert of the case in muted, flat tones so that the metal parts inside stand out; bring those out instead with gentle dry-brushing. Knock the surface of the case back with a flat varnish, and a fine dusting of pigments will complete the gap at ground level.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and figures are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
