An add-on set of smoke candle dischargers under the designation NbKWrf 39 for a model of the Tiger tank in 1:35 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
Smoke candle dischargers under the designation NbKWrf 39 belonged to the equipment of German tanks of the first half of the Second World War. Early Tigers carried them on the sides of the turret in groups of three short tubes aimed obliquely upward. The crew used them to lay a smoke screen under which the vehicle could be taken out of a threatened spot. On later machines they were no longer fitted, so their presence on a model immediately establishes which period of service it shows.
Replacement dischargers in 1:35 scale for a model of the Tiger. It is a small but conspicuous feature on the sides of the turret: in plastic the wall of the tubes comes out thick and the muzzle tends to be filled in, whereas a separately made replacement part tends to be finer in these places, and it shows on a finished model. The extent of the set, the number of parts and their placing are given in the instructions supplied by the manufacturer.
The parts are not polystyrene, so join them with superglue applied in a small quantity. Cut the excess material away with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the remainder down, so that the shape is not disturbed. Wash and degrease the parts before painting. Check the placing on the turret against the documentation of the vehicle being modeled, because it differed between standards. It is sensible to glue the assembly on only after the turret has been painted, otherwise you can reach the area under the dischargers with neither a brush nor an airbrush.
This is an add-on set. The model of the tank, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
