Responsibility details are not available.
A resin accessory set of the British infantry anti-tank weapon PIAT in 1:35 scale from the production of the Czech manufacturer Plusmodel. It is not a stand-alone model of a vehicle but armament, an accessory with which you equip figures of British and Allied infantry or complete a combat scene.
The PIAT (Projector, Infantry, Anti-Tank) was a British anti-tank weapon introduced in 1943. Unlike the American bazooka it used no rocket motor; the grenade with its shaped charge was thrown out by a massive spring together with the ignition of a propelling charge, so the weapon did not give the firer away by backblast and could be used from enclosed spaces as well. The crew did, however, have to bring it to a short effective range, which called for considerable courage. The PIAT served with British and Commonwealth units from Italy through Normandy to Arnhem.
Cut the small resin parts away from the lugs carefully with a sharp knife or a saw and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue. Paint the weapon with a combination of dark metal and British khaki on the fabric parts; fine drybrushing with a metallic shade will bring the edges out. The set comes into its own in the hands of figures, propped against a trench or on the bed of a vehicle.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted, the parts are of resin. Glue, paints and figures are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
