A photo-etched metal detail set from Aber in 1:35 scale intended for models of the German Panther Ausf. F and the developmental Panther II tanks. It adds thin metal exterior parts that capture the fine sheet metal elements better than plastic moldings on their own.
The Panther Ausf. F was a planned late version of the Panther medium tank that was to be set apart by a narrower, better armored Schmalturm turret; in practice it never reached service in series. The Panther II was a developmental project for a heavier, more standardized variant that stayed at the prototype stage. Both versions are popular with collectors precisely for their developmental, less usual character.
Break the photo-etched parts carefully out of the fret with a sharp blade and dress the edges. Make the bends along the etched score lines using a bending tool or two rules; thicker parts can be briefly annealed to make forming easier. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue or two-part epoxy. Lay a primer on the metal before painting, or the paint will not hold well.
