This item is not a kit or a model. It is a set of small resin parts — the clamps and brackets with which the pioneer tools are fastened to the hull and fenders of the Panzer I light tank in the Ausf. A version. In injection-molded plastic these clamps tend to be cast in one piece with the tools or in a coarse, heavily oversized form, because a mold cannot be made otherwise. A resin replacement allows a thinner and more broken-up shape. The manufacturer is the Spanish company AMMO of Mig Jimenez.
The clamps are small metal brackets with a catch or a wing nut, with which a shovel, a pickaxe, a crowbar, a fire extinguisher and other tools are fastened to the vehicle. On the real vehicle these are inconspicuous but very broken-up elements, and it is precisely their fineness that decides how convincing a model looks up close. The Panzer I Ausf. A is a small vehicle as well, so on a 1:35 model the details on the fenders come well to the fore.
Have tweezers and good light ready before you start; the parts are very small and easily flick away. Wash the castings in lukewarm water with detergent and cut the casting blocks off with a sharp knife or a fine saw. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue, that is with super glue; a gel version with a longer setting time is useful so that you have time to line the part up. The tools are usually painted separately and fitted only once the base color of the hull has dried — wooden handles in brown with a glaze, metal parts dark with hints of wear on the edges.
