This injection-molded plastic kit captures the Chinese ZTZ 99 main battle tank in its baseline form. The model is meant to be glued and painted. The package holds parts on several sprues and a separate hull and turret; the exact contents may differ between individual editions. This variant represents the ZTZ 99 without reactive armor.
The ZTZ 99 is a Chinese third-generation main battle tank in service with the ground forces of the Chinese army. It carries a smoothbore gun of 125 mm caliber with automatic loading and modern fire control systems. The baseline ZTZ 99 version has neither the applique reactive armor on the turret nor the stowage basket that mark the later variants.
Finish the running gear and the lower hull before closing the upper part. Use thin modeling cement on the plastic and spray the parts over a base coat (primer) with an airbrush. Bring out the tracks and the chassis with washes and pigments for dust and mud effects.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
