A set of two plastic pallets from the manufacturer MAiM in 1:35 scale. It is a diorama prop, not a kit of a vehicle. While the wooden pallet is a classic of every period from the middle of the 20th century onwards, the plastic pallet is an unambiguous mark of present-day logistics, a small thing the viewer subconsciously reads as the sign that this is happening today.
The pallets fit into warehouses, loading bays, yards, markets, garages and street corners. In modern military subjects they serve at a supply point, and in post-apocalyptic scenes as a scattered remnant of civilization or material for improvised structures. Load crates, sacks or drums from other diorama sets onto them, lean them against a wall or leave them lying about, because it is precisely the disorder that looks believable.
After cleaning up and priming, choose the typical strong industrial shades, most often blue, red or black, and weather the surface gently: plastic does not rust but it does scuff and fade. Light scuffs on the edges, a dusting of pigments and a matte clear coat will give the pallets a properly utilitarian look. A dark wash will bring out the ribbing of the structure.
It is supplied as unpainted castings to be cleaned up and painted. Paints, glue and a load are not included in the package.
