A resin figure in 1:35 scale from the Polish maker Toro Model. It is a stand-alone figure for a diorama or a display base, not a kit of a piece of equipment. The casting is supplied unassembled and unpainted; paints, glue, a horse and a base are not included in the box.
The subject is a cavalryman, a lancer, serving in 1916 with the II Brigade of the Polish Legions, that is, in the units fighting in the First World War. For the modeler the interest lies in the cavalry uniform of the First World War period: a short coat, riding breeches, high boots, a saber sling and the characteristic headgear. The year 1916 is covered fairly rarely in 1:35 scale, so the figure complements collections that are otherwise mostly from the Second World War.
Wash the casting in lukewarm soapy water and rid it of the mold release agent. Cut the casting blocks off with a fine saw, sand the surfaces and protect your airways when sanding resin. It is bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Lay on a thin primer. First World War uniforms tend toward muted shades, so work with gentle transitions and avoid too much contrast. Paint the leather straps, the sling and the boots separately and polish them lightly with a dry brush. Suggest dust on the lower parts with pigment, so that the figure does not look as if it came straight from a display case.
The figure is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
