An Aber photo-etched detail set for the fenders of the Pz.Kpfw. II Ausf. L Luchs light tank (Sd.Kfz. 123) in 1:35 scale is a metal accessory that replaces the simplified plastic fenders with a faithful photo-etched version.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is NOT a tank model but a set of photo-etched brass parts from the Polish company Aber. The vol. 2 set in the range is focused on the fenders and their mounts for models of the Pz.Kpfw. II Ausf. L Luchs light reconnaissance tank. The thin metal parts replace the thick-walled plastic fenders and give the build a fineness that injected plastic cannot reach.
The Pz.Kpfw. II Ausf. L Luchs (Sd.Kfz. 123) was a German light reconnaissance tank of the Second World War. It was produced in limited numbers in 1943 and 1944, it was driven by a gasoline engine and it carried a 20 mm automatic cannon in a rotating turret. Thanks to its speed and low silhouette it served mainly for reconnaissance.
The parts are cut from the fret, cleaned up and bent accurately along the scored lines; a photo-etch bending tool helps. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue) or with a two-part epoxy. Degrease the metal before painting and apply a primer for metal, otherwise the paint holds poorly.
This is an accessory, not a standalone model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
