1:35 Pz.Kpfw. V Ausf.D & A ( i.Kfz.171) Panther (Takom)

The real subject

The Pz.Kpfw. V Panther, carried under the ordnance designation Sd.Kfz. 171, was a German medium tank of the Second World War. The Ausf.D version reached the units in 1943 and shortly after it the Ausf.A replaced it in production. Both share heavily sloped frontal armor, interleaved road wheels and a long 75 mm gun, which was among the most effective anti-tank weapons of its day.

What the set is for

This is an accessory set for a Panther model in 1:35 scale, according to the name prepared for the kit from the Takom brand. The parts therefore take their dimensions from that model and complement or replace its parts where the production model has a coarser shape. The extent of the parts, their placement and the order of assembly are stated in the manufacturer's instructions, which are the only reliable guide during the work.

Building tips

• Before you start gluing, lay the parts on dry and check exactly where they seat on the model.
• Cut any excess material off with a sharp blade a little away from the part and carefully sand the remainder.
• Wash and degrease the parts before painting, otherwise the paint holds badly on the smooth surface.
• Choose the glue according to the material of the parts; super glue is the universal choice where plastic cement does not hold.
• Lay the small parts out on a light surface, as they are easily lost.

Who it is for

The set is intended for modelers who want to take a Panther model beyond the level of a production kit and who do not mind working with small parts. The kit itself, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
