This is a complete detail set from the Polish manufacturer Aber, not a model of a tank. The premium edition combines fine photo-etched frets with turned metal parts and wire sections. With them you replace the flat plastic features on a model of the German heavy tank Pz.Kpfw. VI Ausf.E (Sd.Kfz.181) Tiger I of late production, and you gain a correct scale thickness of the sheet metal, fine grilles, fenders, tool brackets and small fittings of the hull and the turret.
The Tiger I was a German heavy tank of the Second World War armed with an 88 mm gun. Late production vehicles from 1944 are recognized by the one-piece commander's cupola with periscopes, steel-rimmed road wheels without a rubber tire and simplified details of the hull and the superstructure. Thanks to its heavy armor and accurate gunnery the Tiger I was among the most feared machines of its day, yet it was demanding to build and to maintain.
Trim the photo-etched parts off the fret with a sharp knife, bend them on a photo-etch bending tool or along a metal ruler and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Rid the turned parts of grease before gluing and go over all the metal with a priming paint, or the paint will hold poorly. Work by subassemblies and leave the detailing of the grilles and the fenders until the hull is finished.
An accessory for a plastic kit. The model itself, glue and paints are not included in the package.
