A resin replacement running gear part for models of vehicles of the PzKpfw IV family in 1:35 scale. This is not a kit of the vehicle but a single idler wheel. It differs from the universal set of the same cast form in that the casting is conceived as disassembled, with the individual parts of the wheel separate and joined only during the build. That gives you sharp detail on the inner side of the disc as well, and the option of setting the wheel on the model in whatever position you need.
A disassembled casting makes sense in two situations. The first is the pursuit of maximum sharpness of detail, because no face of the disc has to give way to the parting line of the mold. The second is a scene where the vehicle is undergoing maintenance or is damaged and the wheel is lying away from the running gear, or is merely pulled part way out. In both cases what matters is that this is the cast form of disc, which has smoother and more flowing shapes than the welded variant, sold separately.
Wash the castings in warm water with detergent. Cut the casting blocks off with a fine-toothed saw and level the surface by sanding wet with respiratory protection. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue; plastic cement does not dissolve resin. Apply a primer before painting. If you are building the wheel into a maintenance scene, it pays to paint each part separately and only then put it together, because once it is glued you cannot reach the inner faces.
This is an accessory to a plastic kit, not a standalone model. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
