1:35 RANDOM WAVE Set with combinable, curved lines

RANDOM WAVE — painting masks with curved lines 1:35 (Solid Scale)

A set of painting masks from the German manufacturer Solid Scale. It is not a kit and not decals, but an accessory for painting a model. The masks are shaped as curved, wavy lines that can be laid together and joined up, so that you assemble your own irregular camouflage pattern on the model and are not tied to one fixed scheme. The set is sized for 1:35 scale.

Use

• Spray the base shade and let it dry properly, and only then mask.
• First just lay the individual waves out on the model and check how the pattern carries over the edges and the superstructures.
• Press the edges down carefully, so that the second shade does not bleed under the film.
• Spray the paint at a right angle and in two passes; thin coats hold a sharper transition.
• Take the masks off shortly after the paint has dried and put them straight back on their backing for further use.

Who the set is for

For modelers who want an irregular pattern with sharp transitions but do not want to cut it laboriously out of masking tape. The combinable pieces make it possible to create a different layout on every model, so the set does not tempt you into repeating the same scheme. The film is low-tack and will take repeated use.

Degrease the surface before masking — on greasy or dusty paint the film does not hold and the paint bleeds under the edge. On large continuous areas it pays to work in sections.

Paints and glue are not included in the package. The model the pattern is applied to is sold separately.
