An injection-molded plastic kit of the Soviet T-40S light tank in 1:35 scale from Hobby Boss. The model captures the land (non-amphibious) version of the light reconnaissance tank with a welded hull. The T-40 was a Soviet light amphibious reconnaissance tank from the start of the Great Patriotic War. The T-40S version was a simplified land conversion without the flotation equipment and with thicker armor. It was armed with a 12.7 mm DShK heavy machine gun backed up by a DT machine gun. The light, fast vehicles served for reconnaissance and escort work, but their thin armor and light armament put them at a disadvantage on the battlefield of 1941.
Assemble and paint the running gear and the interior fittings before you close the hull. Glue the parts with liquid cement for plastic and the fine photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Soviet vehicles usually wore a single-color green camouflage (4BO): after the base coat, bring out the panel lines and the rivets with a wash and add dust and mud effects with pigments on the running gear and the lower hull.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
