The Quickwheel 1:35 Sd.Kfz. 10/5 masking set is cut for the kit from Dragon and makes it easier to paint the wheels of the half-track tractor with a sharp transition between rubber and rim.
Responsibility details are not available.
A self-adhesive masking set for painting the wheels of the Sd.Kfz. 10/5 half-track tractor in 1:35 scale, cut for the kit from Dragon. It serves to let the rubber part of the wheel be separated from the metal rim without lining by hand. It is neither a replacement part nor a kit.
The road wheels of half-track vehicles tend to have a raised hub in the middle with a cap and a ring of bolts. A flat mask will not seat on a wheel like that by itself — the moment you lay it on, the center domes up and the edge lifts. The procedure is therefore a little different. Place the mask so that it touches the circumference first, and only then press it down gradually with a blunt tool, working from the edge in to the center. If the mask has a cutout in the middle, let it settle freely around the hub and do not pull it down by force, or the material will tense up and come away around the circumference. On a very tall hub it pays to paint the hub itself separately with a small brush before masking — that is less work than trying to catch it under the mask. Check the pressure against the light: wherever a gap can be seen under the mask, the paint will bleed.
Paint the whole wheel in the rubber shade, let it dry thoroughly, mask it and spray the rim over with the vehicle color twice in thin coats. Pull the mask off by its edge at a slant, not straight up.
This is a masking set. Paints, the kit and further accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
