A stand-alone resin figure in 1:35 scale from the Polish maker Toro Model. It is an addition to a diorama or a display figure to go with a finished model, not a kit of a piece of equipment. The casting is supplied unassembled and unpainted; paints, glue and a base are not included in the box.
The figure represents a Polish paratrooper of the 1939 period armed with the Mors submachine gun, a Polish design that was built only in small numbers at the time and is therefore a rewarding subject among modelers. The uniform matches the Polish army of the late 1930s: a khaki uniform, gear on the belt and magazine pouches. The figure suits scenes from the first weeks of the war as well as a striking individual piece on a base.
Wash the casting in lukewarm soapy water so that the mold release residue disappears. Cut the casting blocks off with a fine saw and sand the surfaces; work with respiratory protection when sanding resin. It is bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Lay on a thin primer before painting, which unifies the surface and shows up anything left unfinished. Paint the uniform with acrylics in two or three shades of the base color so that the folds stand out; the flesh is rewarding to finish with oil paints. Finish the weapon in a dark metal color with a light dry brush on the edges.
The figure is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
