A detail set from LZ Models in 1:35 scale that adds a flat protective shield for the gunner and the heavy M2 Browning machine gun to the GM Mk.I Otter armored car. It is neither a model nor a kit: it is an accessory, an upgrade with which you fit out an already built Otter kit. The set combines resin parts with a photo-etched sheet; the shield is executed as a thin photo-etched part and the machine gun from fine resin and photo-etched pieces. The accessory is intended for more experienced modelers.
The Otter Light Reconnaissance Car was a Canadian light armored reconnaissance car produced by General Motors Canada and built on the chassis of a Canadian Military Pattern truck. It served in the Second World War with British and Canadian units, among other places in Italy and in northwest Europe.
Wash the mold release agent off the resin parts and separate them from the casting blocks, bend the photo-etched sheet over an edge and glue it with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Wear respiratory protection when sanding resin. Apply a primer before painting for good adhesion.
The accessory is supplied as a set of resin and photo-etched parts, unassembled and unpainted. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
