Side skirts for the Sturmgeschütz III, Ausf. G (late model) is an Aber photo-etched detail set in 1:35 scale. It is not a vehicle model but a set of thin metal side armor skirts (Schürzen) for a more accurate build.
Responsibility details are not available.
This photo-etched detail set from the Polish manufacturer Aber in 1:35 scale holds the side armor skirts, the Schürzen, for the late form of the Sturmgeschütz III, Ausf. G self-propelled gun. It is not a vehicle kit: it is an accessory in photo-etched metal sheet that replaces the coarser plastic parts and faithfully captures the thin profile and the brackets of the real skirts.
The Sturmgeschütz III was the most widespread German assault and tank-destroyer vehicle of the Second World War, built on the chassis of the Pz.Kpfw. III tank. The side skirts, the Schürzen, were mounted on hanging rails and protected the flanks and the running gear against anti-tank rifles and shaped charge ammunition. The late model differed in the form of the brackets and the plates.
Separate the photo-etched parts with a sharp knife on a cutting surface and make the bends along the etched grooves with a bending tool or two rulers. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue. Degrease the metal before painting and apply a primer. The skirts can be bent or damaged for a realistic battle look.
This is a photo-etched detail set, not a vehicle model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
