This injected plastic kit in 1:35 scale captures the Soviet six-wheeled BTR-152 armored personnel carrier in the V1 version. The set by Trumpeter contains hard plastic parts and photo-etched parts for fine detail. The model is built from sprues, glued and painted.
The BTR-152 was a Soviet wheeled armored personnel carrier built on the chassis of the ZiS-151 truck, later the ZIL-157. It entered service at the beginning of the 1950s and formed the backbone of the Soviet motor rifle units and of the Warsaw Pact armies until the arrival of the amphibious carriers of the BTR-60 series. The version with central tire pressure regulation and a front winch improved cross-country mobility.
Liquid cement for plastic is recommended, and the interior and the chassis should be finished before the hull is closed. Spray a primer as the base, then apply the shade with an airbrush. For a faithful look, a patina of washes and dust pigments on the chassis and the fenders works well.
