Injection-molded plastic kit of the Soviet general-purpose 52-R-353M model 1942 artillery limber in 1:35 scale from Trumpeter. This is a standalone artillery accessory, neither a gun nor a vehicle: the limber served to hitch up and tow field guns. The model offers fine detail, imitation wood grain, photo-etched parts, rubber tires and separately molded tools (a bucket, a shovel, a pick, an axe and a crate).
The 52-R-353M artillery limber was a general-purpose two-wheeled cart introduced in 1942 and intended for towing Soviet regimental and divisional 76.2 mm guns. It was usually drawn by a four-horse team and doubled as an ammunition cart. The limber was coupled between the draft animals (or the tractor) and the gun carriage, which brought the gun into its traveling configuration. It was a common part of Soviet field artillery in the Second World War.
Bend the fine photo-etched parts and the handrails with care. Bring out the imitation wood grain with oils or a wash for a convincing texture. Prime the model and spray Soviet green, then set the metal and wooden parts apart with a different shade. Paint the tools separately. Add dust and mud pigments to the wheels and the lower areas. The model works well paired with a gun and a horse team.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
