This is a photo-etched metal detail set, not a vehicle model. The basic set (vol.1) from Aber holds fine photo-etched parts that refine the plastic kit of the Soviet SU-85 tank destroyer. The photo-etched parts bring a truer sheet thickness, meshes, brackets and small features that injected plastic cannot reach.
The SU-85 was a Soviet tank destroyer of the Second World War built on the chassis of the T-34 tank. It carried a powerful 85 mm gun in a fixed superstructure and was used to destroy enemy armor at longer range. It was fielded from 1943 and became an important anti-tank weapon of the Red Army.
Cut the parts out with a sharp knife, bend them on a bending tool or along a ruler and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue. Degrease the metal and give it a coat of primer before painting. Work with tweezers and in good light.
An accessory for a plastic kit. The model itself, glue and paints are not included in the package.
