This injection-molded plastic kit from the Japanese manufacturer FineMolds represents the Japanese Type 73 light off-road vehicle in the version with the canvas top fitted, in 1:35 scale. The model offers a faithfully broken-up body, chassis and interior and is intended to be assembled and painted by the modeler.
The Type 73 is a light off-road vehicle of the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force (JGSDF). It is based on a license-built Mitsubishi jeep (derived from the Jeep CJ-3B type) and since 1973 has served in a range of configurations to carry personnel and light equipment. The canvas top version has a fabric roof stretched over the cargo and crew areas.
Finish and paint the interior and the chassis before the body is closed. A uniform olive or a multi-color finish is typical of this vehicle and comes out well with an airbrush. Bring out the canvas with a light wash into the folds and complete a light dusting with pigments.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
